I was approached this evening concerning an incident that happened this afternoon at the intersection of Covered Bridge Rd and Hwy 14 as school was letting out. A young female driver was at at the stop sign on Covered Bridge Rd when she pulled out in front of a fully loaded dump truck. The truck was blowing the horn and braking to avoid a tragic accident in an attempt to alert the vehicle driver, but she pulled out anyway. unlnown if she didnt see him or not. the truck did swerve to avoid the collision and narrowly missed her, The party who talked to me thought we should look at trying to get that section of Hive Dr to Covered Bridge Rd changed to a School Zone and lower the speed limit there. The school busses also use that entrance to Hwy 14. Thought we might want to explore that option before something happens.
