Article II, Section 2-26 of the City of Pahokee's Code of Ordinances establishes attendance requirements for members appointed to City boards and committees. The Code provides that board/committee members shall be removed from a board/committee for missing three (3) consecutive committee meetings or four (4) total meetings during any fiscal year, unless the absence is due to illness or excused by a vote of the City Commission.
The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board will discuss attendance and provide a recommendation to the City Commission regarding whether the absences should be excused or whether further action should be considered pursuant to the City Code.
Notice: Board members are hereby reminded that any recommendation made by the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board is advisory in nature only. The final determination regarding whether absences are excused or whether any action is taken concerning a board appointment rests solely with the City Commission.
Background:
Pursuant to Section 2-162(d) of the City of Pahokee Code of Ordinances, the City Commission has requested the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board to develop a plan for the improvement and repair of MLK Park and Citizens Villas Park.
