• 1.Desiree Mills, Chair: Requesting the Levy County Board of County Commissioners’ approval of a Proclamation identifying the month of April 2024 as “Child Abuse Prevention Month”.

• 2.Matt Brooks, Commissioner: Requesting the Levy County Board of County Commissioners approval of a Proclamation recognizing the Williston Red Devils Boys Basket Ball Team on their second Class 1A State Championship.

BUSINESS OR INFORMATIONAL ITEMS:

LEVY COUNTY COORDINATOR – Wilbur Dean

• 3.Denny George, General Manager CFEC: Presentation of American Flag to the Levy County Board of County Commissioners. 

• 4.Requesting the Levy County Board of County Commissioners’ approval to Appoint Christopher Mills to the Planning Commission. Term will end in 4/2026.

LEVY COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE - Sheriff McCallum or Nicole Gore

• 5.Requesting the BOCC approval to waive the bid process per section 2-195 (b)(8) of the procurement code to purchase a vehicle in the amount of $69,961.55 from the Federal Forfeiture fund  that is maintained by the BOCC.

LEVY COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY – Mitch Harrell, Director

• 6.Board’s approval of the attached Budget Amendment appropriating contingency reserves for the AVTEC Agreement previously approved (on 2/6/24)

LEVY COUNTY PROCUREMENT - Alicia Tretheway, Coordinator

• 7.Requesting the Levy County Board of County Commissioners’ approval to accept the highest bid for the sale of surplus property in the amount of $175,000 to First Southern Bank and authorize the Chair to execute the Purchase and Sales Agreement.

• 8.Requesting the Levy County Board of County Commissioners’ (1) approval of the Interlocal Agreement for Medical Examiner Services among Alachua County, Baker County, Bradford County, Levy County, Gilchrist County, Union County, and Dixie County, and (2) request acceptance of the notice of termination of the prior Agreement from the University of Florida.

• 9.Requesting the Levy County Board of County Commissioners’ approval of Task Assignment 2024-4 for Resilience Evaluation and Risk Remediation Recommendations.

LEVY COUNTY ATTORNEY – Nicolle M. Shalley

• 10.As directed by the Board at its March 5th Regular Meeting, requesting the Board: (1) receive the Memorandum from County Staff regarding the options for County FY24-25 Budget Preparation, and (2) select one of the four options presented, or develop alternative options, to meet its obligations to prepare and adopt a balanced FY24-25 County Budget in accordance with the statutory timeframes. 

  If the Board selects Option 1 (Clerk hire a Budget Officer) or Option 2 (Existing Clerk Finance staff to prepare Budget, supplemented by outside assistance), provide that direction to the Clerk of the Circuit Court and County Staff. 

  If the Board selects Option 4b (Board hire a temporary employee to serve as County Budget Officer), then (a) adopt Resolution Number 2024-13, (b) approve the Temporary Employment Agreement, and (c) direct County staff to work with the Clerk on necessary areas of cooperation (such as files needed and ADG access) to ensure timely preparation of the FY24-25 County Budget.
