Chair Kane will lead the discussion regarding internal restructuring and the option of withdrawing from JEDC support and becoming self-managing. If moving to self-managing, the committee will need to pick a secretary to take minutes and forward agendas and minutes to City Clerk's Office for public posting and records retention.
Hold nominations/elections for committee seats at the February Meeting: Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary
What does this means going forward. Introduction to the concept of 5-year planning cycles with community buy-in; projects that can be “completed” in 5 years, and accountability to AARP and CBJ.
JCOA needs commissioners to lead the three main current projects: housing for seniors; improving our volunteer database with CCS and United Way and continuing to work with Parks and Recreation to create more senior fitness opportunities.
