1. 1.Underground Storage Tank (UST) Replacement Bid ward. At the September 14, 2023, Airport Board meeting, the Board approved the increase to costs for the removal of the UST and replacement of an above-ground tank at a cost not-to-exceed $254,950. Staff reminded the Board that this cost does not include a construction contingency. Nortech has a design contract for $47,150, and a concrete pad has already been put in at a cost of approximately $10,000. Nortech will still have construction contract administration and inspections through a contract amendment. Bids were opened on November 16, 2023. The Airport received one bid for this project from Alaska Fuel Systems, Inc., for $175,000. Engineer’s final estimate for construction was $145,358. Staff recommends awarding this bid to Alaska Fuel Systems, Inc. Funding for this project provided through the CARES grant (via operations budget).

   Board Motion: “Approve the bid from Alaska Fuel Systems, Inc., in the amount of $175,000, for the removal of the existing 1,200-gallon underground fuel storage tank at the old shop maintenance building, and replacement with a new above-ground fuel tank;  funding provided by the Airport CARES funding.”
