In addition to in-person public comment during the meeting, members of the public may submit written comments by email to comments@homewoodil.gov or by placing written comments in the drop box outside Village Hall. Comments submitted before 4:00 p.m. on the meeting date will be distributed to all Village Board members prior to the meeting.

5.Minutes:

  1. Consider a motion to approve the minutes from the regular meeting of the Board of Trustees held on May 13, 2025.

6.Claims List:

  1. Consider a motion to approve the Claims List of Tuesday, May 27, 2025 in the amount of $334,153.69.

7.Oaths of Office: The Village Clerk will administer the oath of office to:

  1. A.Charise Campbell for the position of Building Division Administrative Secretary.

  2. B.William Galgan for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic.

  3. C.Shamarr Shelton for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic.

  4. D.Adam Grant for the position of Police Officer.

9.Omnibus Vote: Consider a motion to pass, approve, authorize, accept, or award the following item(s):

  1. A.Annual Report/Fire and Police Commission:  Accept the 2024 annual report of the Fire and Police Commission.

  2. B.M-2355/Special Use Permit/Sunny's Smoothie Cafe/18035 Dixie Highway:  Pass an ordinance granting a special use permit for a carry-out facility, Sunny’s Smoothie Café at 18035 Dixie Highway, in the B-2 Downtown Transition zoning district.

  3. C.M-2356/Special Use Permit/Lux3LoczLLC Salon/18346 Governors Highway:  Pass an ordinance granting a Special Use Permit for a salon/spa establishment in the B-3 General Business zoning district Diamond Rowels of Lux3LoczLLC Salon at 18346 Governors Highway.

  4. D.M-2357/Disposal of Surplus Property/Police Squad Car:  Pass an ordinance authorizing the Village Manager to release totaled Police Department squad #10 (2021 Ford Explorer) to the Village’s insurance company, Intergovernmental Risk Management Agency, which will allow the Village to move forward with the insurance process and receive payment for the value of the totaled vehicle.

  5. E.Budget Amendment/Contract/Design Services/Homewood Auditorium/Linden Group Architects:  Approve a budget amendment in the amount of $122,000; and, authorize the Village President to enter into a contract with the Linden Group Architects of Orland Park, IL in the amount of $122,000 to provide design services associated with improvements to the Homewood Auditorium at 2010 Chestnut Road; subject to final approval of the General Conditions by the Village Attorney.

10.Old Business:

  1. Presentation/Direction to Staff/Redevelopment of Park West Plaza/3003-3025 183rd Street:  After review of the Staff Review Committee’s analysis, the Village Board is requested to consider a Board action to direct staff to negotiate a purchase and sale agreement and a redevelopment agreement with one of the proposed developers to redevelop the Village-owned commercial property at 3003-3025 183rd Street (Park West Plaza).
