Public comments are welcomed, but no action can be taken by the Commission on comments received at this meeting.  Anyone wishing to have the Commission vote on an item should call the Finance Office at 578-2600 by 5:00 p.m. on the Wednesday preceding the next scheduled meeting to be placed on the agenda.

  1. a.Permission to purchase 5500 gallons of fuel at $2.69 per gallon from Southside Oil

  2. b.Resolution 2021-19 Surplus Property

  4. d.Permission for Mayor to sign annual agreement with South Dakota School of the Deaf for office space at History and Info Center at cost of $250.00 per month. 

  5. e.Permission for Mayor to appoint Vicki Dar to the vacant Planning and Zoning Commission position effective September 15, 2021.  Term expires on December 31, 2022.

  6. f.Permission to purchase and pay Golden West for a network switch in the amount of $3,061.24 for the Recreation Center. (To be paid from IT equipment line item.)

  7. g.Permission to hire Dane Burghduff for life guard position at the Recreation Center effective Sept. 9, 2021 at $12.88 per hour, pending pre-employment screening.

  8. h.Results from Ketel Thorstenson, LLP of 2020 Independent Accountant's Report on Apply Agreed-Upon Procedures for Historic Preservation's revolving loan program funds and permission for Mayor to sign report.

  9. i.Accept resignation of employment from Trolley Driver Phillip Lovell effective September 2nd 2021.

  10. j.Permission for Mayor to sign U.S. Department of the Treasury Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (American Rescue Plan Documents) 

7.Bid Items

  1. a.Results of bid opening on September 2, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. for Retaining Wall Project at 8 Jefferson Avenue. No bids received. Allow staff to negotiate a contract with a qualified contractor for the project at the most advantageous price per SDCL 5-18A-5 (9).

8.Public Hearings

  1. a.Hold public hearing for Retail (on-off sale) Malt Beverage and Retail (on-off sale) wine licenses for Deadwood Hotels, LLC dba Four Points by Sheraton Deadwood

  2. b.Set public hearing on September 20 for PRB Unleash the Beast Events: open container from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 25 and noon to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Event Complex.  

  3. c.Set public hearing on September 20 for Retail (on-off sale) Malt Beverage for Historic Deadwood Convention Facility dba Wooden Nickel, Iron Horse Inn, Martin-Mason Hotel at 5-9 Lee Street 

  4. d.Set public hearing on September 20 to extend Zone 2 open container area to include Deadwood Day Spa at 93 Sherman Street.
