Public comments are welcomed, but no action can be taken by the Commission on comments received at this meeting.  Anyone wishing to have the Commission vote on an item should call the Finance Office at 578-2600 by 5:00 p.m. on the Wednesday preceding the next scheduled meeting to be placed on the agenda.

  1. a.Proclamation declaring Wednesday, July 22, 2026 as Dick Richard Hermann Day in the City of Deadwood.

6.Consent Agenda

Matters appearing on Consent Agenda are expected to be non-controversial and will be acted upon by the Commission at one time, without discussion, unless a member of the Commission requests an opportunity to address any given item.  Items removed from the Consent Agenda will be discussed at the beginning of New Business.

  1. a.Permission to accept resignation from seasonal parks Logan Nelson effective August 7, 2026.

  2. b.Permission to accept resignation from seasonal parks Ryan Silvernail, effective August 5, 2026.

  3. c.Permission to accept resignation from seasonal parks Landen Mattson effective August 13, 2026.

  4. d.Permission to remove trolley driver Debra Oban from payroll effective July 8, 2026.  

  5. e.Permission to move Thomas Erickson from Parks Technician to Senior Parks Technician at the rate of $22.00 per hour, effective August 4, 2026.

  6. f.Permission for Mayor to sign Oakridge Cemetery Certificate of Purchase and Warranty Deeds for Andrew Centofanti and Gloria Centofanti. 

  7. g.Acknowledge grant received from Daughter's of the American Revolution (DAR) Foundation in the amount of $4,115.50 for the Historic Preservation Office to digitize the Black Hills Trust & Savings bank records collection.

  8. h.Permission to ratify Deadwood Library Board's decision to adopt the Computer and Internet Use Policy.

  9. i.Permission to ratify the Deadwood Public Library board's decision to adopt the Confidentiality & Privacy Policy.

  10. j.Permission for Mayor to sign land lease agreement with New Cingular Wireless, PCS, LLC (AT&T Cell Tower) for $1,500.00 per month with 3% annual escalator plus utilities for cell tower on McGovern Hill near water tanks.

  11. k.Recommendation to engage Real Properties of Lead-Deadwood based upon review and interviews from request for proposal for Real Estate Broker Services and allow Mayor to sign agreement. 

  12. l.Permission to accept recommendation of Historic Preservation Commission to become a Certified Local Government through the State Historic Preservation Office and allow Mayor to sign Certification Agreement.

  13. m.Permission to purchase a commercial grade mechanics toolbox from Strictly Toolboxes in amount of $7,295.00.  (To be paid by Streets equipment line item.)

  14. n.Permission to purchase accept  thirty 6 x 6 posts from Wheeler lumber, for Preacher Smith parking lot, in an amount not to exceed $2,700.00.  (To be paid by HP Capital assets.)  

  15. o.Allow use of public property at the History and Information Center on Thursday, August 20 through Saturday, August 22, 2026 for VFW Post 5969.
