Public comments are welcomed, but no action can be taken by the Commission on comments received at this meeting.  Anyone wishing to have the Commission vote on an item should call the Finance Office at 578-2600 by 5:00 p.m. on the Wednesday preceding the next scheduled meeting to be placed on the agenda.

  1. a.Permission to promote Police Officer John Reiser to Police Sergeant II at $31.25 per hour effective July 19, 2026.  

  2. b.Permission to hire Tamara Collier and Arthur Nusom as part-time trolley drivers at $17.65 an hour effective July 29, 2026 pending pre-employment screening.

  3. c.Permission to move Leah Blue-Zones from Zoning Coordinator to full-time HP Program Coordinator at same rate of pay, effective at time current position is filled.   

  4. d.Permission to advertise in-house for 5 days and with outside sources, if needed, for full-time Zoning Coordinator position at $23.00 to $25.00 per hour depending on education, experience and qualifications.

  5. e.Permission to approve job description for newly created Senior Parks Technician position.  

  6. f.Permission to post in-house for 5 days for Senior Parks Technician position at $22.00 per hour.  

  7. g.Acknowledge receipt of grant funding in the amount of $7,457,962.29 for DR4467 July 2019 Flood Event within the City of Deadwood.  Authorize payment to SD Dept of of Public Safety in the amount of $6,616,611.72 for advance loan utilized during construction and FEMA closeout process.  

  8. h.Resolution 2026-20 Authorizing the installation of a yield sign on Lee Street at its intersection with Sherman Street.

  9. i.Acknowledge partial grant payment received from SD DOT Community Access in the amount of $450,000.00 for the Crescent Street project.    

  10. j.Authorize the transfer of the Wild Bill sign (located at 624 Main St) following payment and execution of a conservation easement.  

  11. k.Permission to purchase two pieces of workout equipment from Abs Company, Inc. in the amount of $4,852.32. (To be paid by Recreation equipment line item.)

  12. l.Permission to pay Utility Service Co., Inc for the McGovern Hill water tanks annual maintenance agreement in the amount of $37,648.00. (To be paid by Water Professional Services line item.) 

  13. m.Permission to pay Adobe for one year subscription to Acrobat Pro in the amount of $2,878.80 for ten (10) employees. (To be paid by various departments.)

  14. n.Approve continuation of a Conditional Use Permit for Bed and Breakfast Establishment – 7 Burlington Street – Burlington B&B for the next twelve (12) months. (Recommendation from Planning and Zoning Commission on July 15, 2026, with nine (9) conditions.)

  15. o.Approve continuation of a Conditional Use Permit for Vacation Home Establishment – 596 Main Street – JVK-SD, LLC for the next twelve (12) months. (Recommendation from Planning and Zoning Commission July 15, 2026 with nine (9) conditions.)

  2. b.Hold public hearing for Thrashin Supply Company: street closure on Deadwood Street from Main Street to Pioneer Way from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and use of Interpretive Lot from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.

  3. c.Permission to purchase 2026 Kubota SSV65HRC Skid Steer from Butte County Equipment in the amount of $52,150.00 less trade of 2019 Kubota SSV65 and sign municipal equipment lease with  Kubota Credit Corporation with 4 annual payments of $7,251.38 per year.   4. d.Permission to pay White's canyon to repair the turbo in 2016 Ford F550 (Rescue 3) in the amount of $7,819.10. (To be paid by Fire repair line item.)
