Approval is requested requesting that the Local Legislative Delegation to the Georgia General Assembly introduce legislation at the 2022 Session to amend O.C.G.A Section 50-27-86 to broaden the powers of local governments to limit such machines, including fines of up to $5000 for violations concerning such machines.
Approval is requested to execute a Memorandum of Agreement with the Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council to compensate the Acting District Attorney, Sheneka J. Terry, at the same rate as is authorized by state law for the District Attorney.
Approval is requested to grant up to $10,170,366 from the South Columbus River District TAD Fund to provide for infrastructure improvements and financing to provide single/multi-family residential units to a blighted area located 1104 Leslie Drive.
Approval is requested authorizing the execution of an Encroachment Agreement with Piedmont Columbus Regional for refacing the wall and other improvements to the retaining wall located on the south side of Talbotton Road between 8th Avenue and North Avenue.
Approval is requested to apply for a grant in the amount of $307,671.00; with $279,700.91funded through FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant and a 10% match of $27,970.09 paid by Columbus Fire and EMS. The Multi-Governmental Fund will be amended by the amount of the award. Funds will be requested from FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant for the purchase of new fitness equipment for the departments 14 stations and training division.
Approval is requested to accept a Federal VOCA (Victims of Crimes Act) Grant in the amount of $203,419 or as otherwise awarded from the Georgia Criminal Justice Coordinating Council and approved matching funding and $5,287 from the five percent crime victim surcharge fund for the Solicitor General’s Victim Assistance Program.
Approval is requested to authorize the District Attorney’s Victim-Witness Assistance Program to submit and if approved, accept a grant for $50,049 or as otherwise awarded from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council of Georgia, along with $12,512 from the 5% Crime Victim Surcharge Fund allocated in the FY22 Budget to provide funding for Crime Victim Assistance in the Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit from October 1, 2021 to September 30, 2022. It is requested that the multi-governmental fund be amended by the amount awarded plus the local match.
Approval is requested to authorize the District Attorney’s Victim-Witness Assistance Program to submit and if approved, accept a grant for $417,247 or as otherwise awarded from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council of Georgia along with $104,312 from the 5% Crime Victim Surcharge Fund allocated in the FY22 Budget to provide funding for Crime Victim Assistance in the Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit from October 1, 2021 to September 30, 2022. The grant no longer requires the use of volunteers; however, the entire 20% match could be provided with the use of volunteers. Volunteer hours are paid at $15.00 per hour and, after proper submission, will reduce the amount of required cash match from the 5% Crime Victim Surcharge Fund. It is requested that the multi-governmental fund be amended by the amount awarded plus the local match.
Approval is requested to authorize a MOU with StartUp Columbus, Inc. to administer CCG’s small business, non-profit, and economic/tourism grant programs funded by American Rescue Plan Act.
