Approval is requested authorizing the abandonment of a portion of an alley east of 4th Avenue known as 35 ½ Street and authorizing to execute a Quit Claim Deed for all rights, title and interest the City may have in the alleyway to NeighborWorks Columbus. The abandonment is needed in order to combine the alleyway with adjacent residential lots for redevelopment. NeighborWorks will be responsible for reimbursement of all cost associated with the abandonment and property transfer.
Approval is requested to submit a grant application and if awarded, accept funds from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council for the operation of the Muscogee County Family Drug Court up to $300,000.00, or as otherwise awarded, and amend the Multi-Governmental Fund by the amount of the grant award. The grant period is from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022.
Approval is requested to submit an application, and if approved, accept $350,703.18 or as otherwise awarded from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council for the operation of the Muscogee County Adult Felony Drug Court, from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022 and to amend the Multi-governmental Fund by $350,703.18 or as otherwise awarded. The City is required to provide a 10% cash matching funds ($36,235.00) to participate in this grant program. This cash match is satisfied in the salary and benefits of a current case manager who is paid for by the City ($36,235.00).

Approval is requested to accept donations in the form of gift certificates, checks, gift cards, and cash from sponsors and individuals for the purpose of purchasing supplies for a drive through City-Wide Easter event. The annual Easter Egg Hunt will be on March 27, 2021 from 10 am – 12 pm at Shirley Winston Park located on Steam Mill Road.
Approval is requested to accept a donation of a Dero Fixit Station for the Dragonfly Trail. River Valley Regional, Bicycle Columbus and Dragonfly Trails, Inc. have requested to donate a Dero Fixit Station for the Dragonfly Trail for the use of bikers along the trail. The value of the Dero Fixit Station is approximately $1200 but will be at no cost to the City as it is a donation.
