1.CALL TO ORDER

2.CITIZEN COMMENTS

At this time, three (3) minute comments will be taken from the audience on any topic. Anyone in attendance wishing to address the Board/Commission must complete a citizen comment form and give the completed form to the Board/Commission Secretary prior to the start of the Board/Commission meeting. In accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, if a citizen discusses any item not on the agenda, the Board/Commission cannot discuss issues raised or make any decision at this time.  Instead, the Board/Commission is limited to making a statement of specific factual information or a recitation of existing policy in response to the inquiry. Issues may be referred to City Manager for research and possible future action.

It is not the intention of the City of Bastrop to provide a public forum for the embarrassment or demeaning of any individual or group.  Neither is it the intention of the Board/Commission to allow a member of the public to slur the performance, honesty and/or integrity of the Board/Commission, as a body, or any member or members of the Board/Commission individually or collectively, or members of the City’s staff.  Accordingly, profane, insulting or threatening language directed toward the Board/Commission and/or any person in the Board/Commission’s presence will not be tolerated.

    - The Traveling Exhibition Harriet Tubman Program through August 31st at Kerr Community Park

  2. 3B.Update and Discussion on Upcoming Events:

    - Sit with Syl Session on September 18th at 6:30 pm at City Hall

    - Indigenous Peoples' Day at the Museum on October 12th

    - Boards and Commissions Banquet on October 24th

    - Veterans "Red, White, & Blue Banquet" on November 9th

  3. 3C.Additional Announcements and/or Events from individual Bridging Bastrop Board members.

4.REPORTS

  1. 4A.Receive a report on the schedule for the Infomercial Sessions.

  2. 4B.Receive a report update on job training and workforce development initiatives specific to community needs and partnerships with Bastrop EDC Board, Bastrop Chamber of Commerce, and Workforce Solutions of Bastrop County.

5.WORKSHOP

  1. 5A.Workshop and presentation with Dominica McGinnis, BridgeField Group, regarding guidance on implementation of Bridging Bastrop Board Work Plan and initiatives.

6.ITEMS FOR INDIVIDUAL CONSIDERATION

  1. 6A.Consider and act to approve the Bridging Bastrop Board meeting minutes from the Thursday, August 8, 2024 Regular Meeting.

  2. 6B.Discuss and possibly act on the City of Bastrop Human Resources Department items:

    - Future and Additional Reports

    - Cost breakdown for posting jobs to additional sites

    - Observation of diversity celebrations / multicultural events for City staff

  3. 6C.Discuss and possibly act on the revised Bridging Bastrop Board logo.

  4. 6D.Discuss and possibly act on the new social media format for Bridging Bastrop Board postings on the City of Bastrop social media pages.

  5. 6E.Individual Requests from Bridging Bastrop Board members for particular items to be listed on future agendas (no group discussion).

7.ADJOURNMENT
