Public Notice is given that the Town Council of the Town of Apple Valley, Washington County, Utah will hold Public Hearings on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at 06:00 PM or shortly thereafter at 1777 N Meadowlark Dr, Apple Valley.
Pursuant to the Executive Order issued by Governor Gary Herbert on March 18, 2020, regarding Electronic Public Meetings, please be advised that the Planning Commission Meeting will be held electronically and will be broadcast via Zoom. Persons will be allowed to comment during the meeting via Zoom or by calling in. Mayor Dale Beddo opened the public hearing at 6:05 pm
Mayor Dale Beddo asked John Barlow to present CIB application for funding for a fire apparatus.

Introduction and CIB overview:
|CIB is short for Permanent Community Impact Fund Board. Allocation overview discussed. They are the one who allocate federal funds. The CIB requires all applicants to have a vigorous community involvement.
Project and project scope:
Provide and Urban fire vehicle for The Town of Apple Valley. Project requirements reviewed. Procurement process discussed.
Impact of Project on the Community:
Positive impacts, more reliable fire response, improved fire response time, improved fire service area, improved firefighting capability and improved ISO rating in which in term saves money on insurance.
Application Process:
Application is submitted prior to October 1, 2021 @ 5:00 PM. CIB Board invites Town Staff up to present, Nov, Dec, Jan. If approves funding happens in February, 2022.
Impact of Potential Funding and Debt Repayment:
John presented an excel sheet that showed the various repayment amounts per year based on
John Barlow concluded his presentation.
Chief David Zolg commented: Our previous CIB grant was verbally approved for 1% grant. Smart to get what we can for our community. He is comfortable whatever the Town decides as long as it is $500,000 and above. Discussed changing the application to $600,000.
Mayor Beddo read a public comment email and summarized points that were on the CIB and John Barlow thanked the fire department for their involvement.

Richard Ososki public comment asked if this new truck would be able to carry more fire personnel. The answer was he believed 6. He asked how many people the current fire truck holds. He asked questions regarding how funds are allocated. He asked if CIB and the grant are 2 entities or if they are the same. He asked how many funds do they have? He asked at what point what we can't afford the grant? He will have to be approved by Town Council. There was no money allocated for this truck. There is some money in the budget that can be allocated for the fire truck.
Margaret Ososki asked about the Jepson Canyon agreement that they were to be provided a fire truck. Mayor commented that this was a different type of fire truck.
Mrs. Lisonbee asked if this was a bare bore budget. They discuseed the budget.
